Today I fooled around with Javascript and HTML a bit and got my first app working. It's pretty simplistic. Basically, the user clicks a button a ton of times, and there's a counter. When they reach certain milestones, a text area will display messages. I'm also working on exp, levels, coins, and a reward system. All in one day!
Working with Javascript is really nice for apps, it's much easier to work with than Android, and you can refresh the app in under a second, rather than taking the time to reinstall it a ton of times. I'll post source for my app tomorrow!
You and Alex should create a shared repo on github to put the source to your apps (even the small "experiments" you developing to learn). As Alex's Friday blog post (and my comment) make clear, it is highly likely we will face challenges with lack of good documentation as we move forward with this project. As I tried to indicate in the email I sent to Marcia and Dietrich, it is really important for us to contribute toward the improvement of documentation for the project. Much of this responsibility will fall on me for that, but it will be a big help if I can leverage the project you are working on to use as examples.
